The Ravon R2 is the car we saw earlier from GM. Now the production license belongs to the Ravon company, and the new model is called P2.

The new Ravon P2, as mentioned above, is a licensed copy of the third generation Chevrolet Spark. After GM decided to phase out production in Russia, the Uzbeks decided to attract some fame and customers.

I must admit that the designers of the American concern have created an interesting car. Ravon R2 from the outside cannot but cause a condescending smile on the face, while its technical equipment and convenience in many details can give odds to many hatchbacks of a class higher.

It should be noted right away that Ravon P2 is in class A, and therefore, we have before us a small-displacement urban version, for example, the Ravon R2's ground clearance is only 145 mm, with full confidence we can call it a "puzoterka".

Now directly about the appearance, but there is something to see here. For example, the huge headlights of the head optics, combined with an interesting grille, do not look as ridiculous as it might seem when you compare their dimensions and the overall dimensions of the model. In addition, the designers managed to place all the parts so that they harmonize perfectly with each other, and the clearance increased by a couple of centimeters would make the car almost a crossover. Honestly, if you look closely, you can see the features of the Opel Mokka.

Large fog lights, huge air vents in the bumper, an antenna above the windshield, roof rails are all the little things that give the car the look it has at the moment.

In profile, the subcompact hatchback looks much more solid than its competitors Getz and Matiz. The Ravon R2 is 1.52 meters high, which is not bad for this class, and the wavy side lines underline this fact. In addition, the muscular relief shows the model in a favorable light, visually expanding the overall dimensions.

Deep stamping on the wheel arches, on the rear fender, on the lower edge of the doors - it must be admittedly stylish and aggressive, although here a condescending smile appears on the face again. GM has gotten even the smallest details in the form of irregularly shaped handles or a small repeater on the front fender. Its location, by the way, judging by the reviews of Spark's owners, does not bode well, because it is constantly showered with mud from under the wheel.

Interior Ravon R2 2016

Spartan style is a strong point, which, again, inherited from the Chevrolet Spark. There is nothing superfluous, in Spark it was enough, while the Uzbeks decided the interior trim in the American version was too fun and removed some elements in the body color. Thus, we have before us a typical dull budget option, with low-grade plastic, slippery seat trim. True, we must pay tribute to the manufacturer, the chairs are really comfortable.

In front of the driver is the same instrument board, which is divided, it is not clear on what principle. At first glance, the instruments show the "weather", but later you realize that the incomprehensible graph on the right is a tachometer. The center console is perhaps the most pleasant and most ergonomic element of the interior, which boasts such details as air conditioning, a standard MP-3 changer, and a small niche for a trifle. All this is crowned with a small flap of control lamps, which, as Spark's owners say, is not needed there at all, it greatly distracts from the road. Well at least the visor closes from glare.

On the back sofa Ravon R2 is quite spacious even for two adults, especially if the children are put behind the wheel and the front row is moved forward. However, you might think that the free space was given under the trunk, but that was not the case! There are only 170 liters in the trunk, so where did it all go? It seems that there are only 35 liters in the tank. Anyway. If you fold the back of the second row, you get 568 liters. This is enough to go shopping on the larger Ravon P2 and was not planned.

Only one type of power unit is installed on the Ravon P2 car. Moreover, it was borrowed, oddly enough, from Aveo, tobish from the new Nexia. It has a working volume of 1.2 liters and develops 86 horsepower. Interestingly, on the donor, such a motor was equipped with a mechanics with five switching steps, and here only an automatic with 4 steps. The maximum speed of Ravon R2 on the machine will be 161 km / h, while the scale on the speedometer is marked up to 180. It should be noted that the dynamics of acceleration is interesting - 12.4 seconds to hundreds.

But the fuel consumption is not at all happy, given the volume. 5.1 liters combined. Perhaps, for 1.4 liters it would be normal, but not for 1.2. So much for the machine. On the other hand, the target audience of this car, we will talk about it later, will not pay attention to it at all.

Ravon R2: configurations and prices

There are three options on the Russian market that differ little from each other. The starter version, of course, is equipped with the slightest set of basic functions.

Comfort

There will be ABS, driver and front passenger airbags, power steering, a standard audio system with AUX and USB, as well as front power windows. Interestingly, the basic package includes metallic. On the Ravon R2, the price in the base will be 369 thousand rubles. It is called Comfort.

Optimum

Here the buyer will give 439 thousand hard-earned money. The list of equipment will be replenished with an on-board computer, steering wheel height adjustment, air conditioning, heated and servo-driven mirrors, heated wiper zones. This concludes the list of updates.

Elegant

Here we can already say that the car is practically worth the money. For 469 thousand, rear power windows finally appear, side airbags and curtains, as well as rear parking sensors, multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats and 14-inch molding.

Competitors of the new Ravon P2

Now it's time to talk about why you shouldn't buy this car. Yes, many will say that a car is what a lady needs. But why, if for a lady, then at once some kind of compact hatch, in which even the bags will not fit all? Okay, so be it. But for the same money there is Grant on the robot, on the one hand, an unsuccessful example, and on the other, a developed service network, not like Ravon's.

We go further south. Here we have China. So, Cherry offers some very interesting options. So, for example, Indis will cost 20 thousand more, but the buyer will get the same thing, only the trunk with a volume of 275 liters, and if you fold the second row, then all 1000. The back sofa is much more spacious.

And finally, a competitor that should be specifically feared is the Chery M11. Here the design is from Italy, the engine is from Austria, almost all the electronics are made by Bosch. Moreover, for the same money, the buyer will receive the maximum configuration, and even with rain and light sensors. There will also be a leather steering wheel. In general, as always, one must fight for a place in the sun. And Ravon R2 will have to fight very, very well.
